On May 5th, CMS announced the opening of a ” Special Enrollment Period (SEP) for Individuals Affected by a FEMA-Declared Weather-Related Emergency or Other Major Disaster: Applicable for COVID-19.” Read the full memo here.
Starting March 1st, if a Medicare beneficiary was unable to make an enrollment during their normal election period, they have until June 30th to use the FEMA Disaster Related related SEP.
